Newcastle Building Society is bringing financial services to Settle, North Yorkshire with a new weekly pop-up.
A Newcastle Financial Adviser, from our Newcastle Building Society Hawes branch in Wensleydale, will be on hand each week to talk to residents about financial matters.
The first pop-up was held on Tuesday 30th September. It will continue to run every Tuesday through the autumn, from 10am to 3pm at Limestone View, Lower Greenfoot, Settle, BD24 9FH.
Across the UK, more than 6,500 bank branches have closed since 2015. This has made it harder for rural towns like Settle to get in-person support. The new pop-up up gives locals a place to talk to a Newcastle Financial Adviser close to home.

Tim Lamour, our Hawes Branch Manager
“Following the loss of all four of Settle’s banks in recent years, we know local people face barriers when it comes to accessing face-to-face financial services - less choice, longer journeys, and the exclusion of people who might prefer to manage their money in person."
Tim adds: “We know that people living in rural communities like Settle can face barriers when it comes to accessing face-to-face financial services and can have limited choices available. By also bringing a Financial Adviser to Settle we’re making it easier for local people to get straightforward, trustworthy guidance on savings, investments, pension and retirement planning. Whether someone wants to explore ways to make their savings work harder, or ask the basics, we will be on hand to provide clear, face to face support.”
