Passbook savings accounts at a glance

Whilst more banks and building societies stop offering passbooks, lots of our Members tell us they still prefer using them to manage their money. That’s why we’ve committed to offering passbooks for savings accounts opened in branch for as long as our Members continue to want them.

There are plenty of reasons why Members appreciate passbooks, but here are just a few of the benefits:

  • Keep a physical record of your savings activity including deposits, withdrawals, the interest you’ve earned, and account balance
  • As the account is managed in branch, it allows you to spend face-to-face time with our customer advisers and get support with the management of your account
  • Great for helping you stay in control - with all your savings account transactions to hand you can use it to budget and manage your finances

We can offer passbooks with most of our accounts, when opened in a branch. Below are some of our most popular accounts where Members request one. View the full list of savings accounts on our all savings products page.

Ways to apply

To open a savings account with us, you can apply either online or in one of our branches (as detailed in the individual product information).

To open a new account with a passbook, simply pop into your local branch and one of our friendly customer advisers will be happy to help. Please note, only accounts opened in branch can be issued with a passbook.
