We're here to help when things get difficult
That is why we joined with Citizens Advice Gateshead to create Helping Hand. Helping Hand is a support service for our members and colleagues. It gives you the chance to speak to a trained adviser and get help when you need it.
Citizens Advice Gateshead gives free and private advice on many things, such as:
- Benefits and Universal Credit
- Housing problems
- Debt and money worries
- Relationship issues
- Local support in your area
- Problems at work or unfair treatment

Newcastle Building Society funds a full-time expert at Citizens Advice Gateshead.
As a member-owned organisation, we’re here to support you when you need help most. You can get in touch by phone or email in a way that suits you.

- Support for all customers and staff, no matter where you live.
