Deposit or withdraw your money whenever you need to

You can earn interest with an easy access account, which means your money grows over time. Most easy access accounts let you take out money whenever you like, while others may give you a higher interest rate by limiting the amount of times you can take money out. They’re a good choice if you want to save but still keep your money close.

How to apply

Easy access savings accounts: Frequently Asked Questions

What are easy access accounts?

Easy access accounts are flexible savings accounts that allow you to grow your savings, without tying your money in for a fixed term. You can add or withdraw your money at any time, this can be useful if you need to dip into your savings regularly.

Deposits, withdrawals and what you need to know about easy access accounts

Access

One of the biggest advantages of putting your money into an easy access account is the flexibility it offers. You can still access your money when you need to whilst earning more interest than if you left the money in your current account.

Interest rates

Easy access accounts usually have lower interest rates then fixed rate accounts. This does mean you're likely to earn less interest than you would if you had your savings in a fixed rate account.

Withdrawals

Whilst most easy access accounts let you make as many withdrawals as you need, some accounts may limit the number of withdrawals you can make each month or year. This is always detailed in the product information.

Deposits

Most easy access accounts can be opened with as little as £1. Making them a good starting place for those who want to start saving.

Who are easy access savings most suitable for?

An easy access savings account may be a good choice for you if:

  • You might need access to your savings soon
  • You want to keep your savings separate from your current account
  • You want to be able to top up and withdraw at any time
