Hartlepool is Carrieanne’s hometown, meaning that making a positive difference in the town is very close to her heart. We asked her how the presence of the branch impacts the local community: "It is so important to Hartlepool. In a town where branches have closed and passbooks are gradually being taken away by other banks, it really is important that we are here to help anyone and be able to offer the type of service the people of Hartlepool need.”
Carrieanne started her career with Newcastle Building Society in 2014, joining us as a part-time Customer Adviser. After nine years of raising her daughter, Carrieanne decided she wanted to return to work, and this role was the perfect opportunity. She explains, “I had always loved working in banking, which is what I did before becoming a mum. The Hartlepool branch made me feel so welcome and from day one I knew I had found my place.”
“I love that the customer is at the heart of everything, it really gives what we do purpose, and we can see the way we help people improve their situations every day. Hartlepool is my home town and I love being able to make a difference right on my doorstep."
Carrieanne’s favourite part of her job is the people. The Hartlepool team have over 50 years of service between them, making them a close-knit family. On top of that, the branch team have built great relationships with their customers and local community.
Outside of work, Carrieanne is a keen reader, reading 3-4 books per week! She loves anything but mainly mysteries and psychological thrillers, where she and her daughter see who can solve the crimes the quickest.
We asked Carrieanne what her top tip is for saving money: “Little and often, you will be surprised at how quickly it grows!”
Carrieanne and her team can’t wait to welcome you to the Hartlepool branch soon.
